“The Lord would speak to Moses face to face,
as one speaks to a friend.”
~ Exodus 33:11
Thought of the Day
In Exodus 33:11, we read about how Moses, a faithful servant of God, had a unique relationship with the Divine. The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. This verse speaks to the intimacy and closeness that can be achieved in our relationship with God.
Like Moses, we too can cultivate a deep and personal relationship with the Divine. We can approach God with honesty, vulnerability, and openness, sharing our joys, fears, hopes, and struggles. We can engage in conversations with the Divine, listening for guidance, comfort, and wisdom.
Through this relationship, we can experience the presence and love of God in a powerful and transformative way. We can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our purpose, and be empowered to live a life of meaning and purpose.
So let us take the example of Moses and seek the presence of the Divine in our daily lives. Let us engage in intimate conversations with the One who knows us intimately and loves us unconditionally. And may we be transformed by the power of this sacred relationship, living as faithful and joyful servants of God.
Prayer
Dear God,
We thank you for the relationship that you had with Moses, where you spoke to him face to face, as one speaks to a friend.
Lord, we long for that kind of intimate relationship with you. We want to hear your voice and feel your presence in our lives. We want to be able to speak to you like we would to a close friend, sharing our joys, our struggles, and our deepest desires.
We ask that you would draw us closer to you, just as you drew Moses near to you. Help us to recognize your voice and to be sensitive to your leading. Give us the courage to come before you boldly, knowing that you are a loving and compassionate God who desires to speak to us.
May our relationship with you be one of depth and intimacy. Help us to set aside time to be with you, to listen to your voice, and to grow in our understanding of who you are. May we be transformed by your love and grace, and may our lives be a testimony to your goodness.
Thank you, Lord, for the example of friendship that you set for us through Moses. May we learn from his example and seek to cultivate that same kind of friendship with you.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
