“I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.”
~ Isaiah 42:16
Thought of the Day
Today's reading from the book of Isaiah is a powerful reminder of God's promise to us. “I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.” This verse speaks to us on many levels, and it is a message of hope and encouragement that we all need to hear.
It reminds us that God is always with us, even in our darkest moments. When we feel lost, alone, or overwhelmed, we can turn to God for comfort and guidance. He promises to turn our darkness into light, to bring hope and healing to our troubled souls.
It also encourages us to trust in God's plan for our lives. Even when things seem uncertain or difficult, we can trust that God is working all things together for our good. He will make the rough places smooth, clearing the way for us to walk in His path.
And finally, this verse reminds us of our calling as followers of Christ. We are called to be bearers of light in a world that can sometimes feel dark and hopeless. We are called to make the rough places smooth, to be a source of comfort and encouragement to those around us.
So let us hold fast to this promise from Isaiah, and let us be a people of hope and light in a world that so desperately needs it. Amen.
